About this site
I started painting in the early 1980s and for a time was doing at least one canvas a month, using the wet-on-wet process pioneered by Bill Alexander who passed away in January 1997.
His protégé was Bob Ross who carried on the tradition and also left us in July 1995.
For a few years, Ross hosted a show titled The Joy of Painting, an instructional television program that aired from 1983 to 1994 on PBS.
As in all hobbies after a few years, my thoughts leaned toward other things such as woodworking and even short story writing.
I still occasionally try other mediums and surfaces such as painting on wood and even popsicle sticks.
I am now returning to my former venture of using ideas and plans to go forth into painting on canvas with acrylic selections and possibly dabble too with oils as was my first introduction to this art.
I designed this site with the idea of sharing what I have gleaned from various sources and hope it will encourage others to take up the brush and paint!
